Light Meters & Photometers
The Hanna Instruments 93751-01 sulfate reagent, for use with the HI 96751 Sulfate Portable Photometer, contains the proper dosage for 100 tests that measure the sulfate content using the turbidimetric method in water samples in the 0 to 150 mg/L range. HI 96751-01 contains 100 odorless, white powder sulfate reagent packets, for 100 tests.
A reaction between the reagent and sulfate in a sample causes a distinct white cloudiness to appear, which is measured by the meter.
Reagents are used in photometers to measure the light intensity of solutions or surfaces. The reagent is mixed with the sample and placed in the photometer, which then produces a reading. Reagents are commonly used in the water quality, agricultural, and horticultural industries to measure the amount of minerals and chemicals in water samples.
Hanna Instruments manufactures analytical instrumentation and supplies, including pH meters, electrodes, chemical reagents, and buffer solutions. The company, founded in 1978 and headquartered in Woonsocket, RI, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 standards.
